So i just went to meet my new GP. Lovely Dr Pollen! She was brilliant.. and if any of you need some kind of new motivation (and additional advice) then i really really recommend visiting your GP if you haven’t already done so! Also in two weeks i am going back, and because i am just on the obese line (ouch) she is going to put me on two weeks worth of fasting pills. Which i am kind of looking forward too haha. The pills take all of the fat out of the food you do eat (even salads), and if you are eating badly (food high in fat like chips, pizza, MacDonald’s) then they give you diarrhea. So they kind of punish you for eating badly if you know what i mean. Genius! Also she is going to test me for diabetes when i go back, because my dad has it. Which means a blood test, which i don’t mind.
So aside from all this, she gave me some really good advice. She wrote me out an eating plan (which is almost identical to what I’m eating already.. oh im good) and i think the best new advice she gave me, was don’t eat anything with a bar code on it. Every thing has to be fresh and from either the food market or the butchers. So tomorrow i will head on up to Broadway market and do just that.
Also for the next two weeks I’m cutting out bread. She said it is so easy to make a sandwich, which will be consumed quickly, and then have another before you get the chance to be full. And instead have some fresh soup or salad etc. which takes longer to eat.. so that you don’t over eat! So i am cutting it out to see if it will make a difference.
So today is a good day, Joe is still at the health center. He recently found out he has Jamaican roots and sickle cell runs in his family. Its quite funny because he a little white boy from Manchester.
